About
Rachel Troob, LMHC — New York City therapist with graduate training from the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in therapy for teens and young adults navigating life transitions, relationships, and anxiety.
Behind the practice

I became a therapist because I know what it's like to feel as though the world is getting louder while you're still trying to figure out your own voice. Growing up in the age of social media, constant comparison, and pressure to have everything figured out, I experienced many of the same pressures and uncertainties my clients talk about today. I know how easy it is to lose sight of yourself when you're trying to meet everyone else's expectations.
My path began with a passion for education. I started my studies at the University of Miami School of Education and Human Development, where my interest evolved toward understanding people, their development, and the experiences that shape them. I later earned my graduate degrees in counseling from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Along the way, I came away with something I continue to see every day: meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to explore their patterns, and supported enough to try something different.
I started Rachel Troob Therapy to create a space that feels less like a clinic and more like a real conversation. Warm, direct, and tailored to you—no generic advice or pretending to have all the answers. Just a place where you can show up exactly as you are and leave with more clarity.
